What AION does

Five controls on covered AI spend.

AI traffic inventory

Inventory the AI traffic AION observes beside your gateway (across the API, gateway and managed-provider paths) and surface unmanaged spend there. Named honestly: AION sees the traffic that flows through the gateway it sits beside, not usage outside that path.

  • inventory observed AI traffic across teams, apps and credentials
  • attribute every request to a user, team, app, project and cost center
  • surface unmanaged or personal-account spend in the API/gateway path

Cost attribution and AIBOM

AI Bill of Materials for every covered agent: models, providers and per-request cost. Signed and append-only, so finance can trace every dollar to the request that spent it.

  • record agent, model, provider and cost per request
  • sign the cost evidence and pin it to a verifiable ledger
  • give finance a complete, time-stamped spend record

Cheapest-safe routing

AION uses intelligent CPU-based routing to send covered AI traffic to the cheapest model that handles the prompt, with budget, token, cache, team and cost-center context gating model selection. Every routing decision and its cost land in the signed ledger.

  • route routine work to the cheapest safe model
  • escalate only the work that needs a stronger model
  • stop retry loops and runaway token spend

Verified savings ledger

Cost claims that survive audit. Every saved dollar tied to an observed traffic event and a replay-hashed receipt before it reaches an invoice.

  • compare baseline cost to the routed cost on the same traffic
  • write savings_verified events; notional savings never bill
  • enforce per-team and per-cost-center budgets before spend lands

Guarded context compression

Agent workflows resend old tool logs, RAG chunks and prior context. AION estimates what can be compressed, skips when provider cache or tool ordering would break and signs the context decision.

  • compress deterministic CPU-safe segments only when cache economics hold
  • skip compression when it would destroy a warm provider prefix
  • sign whether AION compressed, skipped or only observed

Deployment

Runs inside your boundary.

Intelligent routing runs CPU-first. GPU is never a default requirement. Strict mode runs with no outbound vendor dependency.

Sidecar

Deploy beside a single workload, in-boundary, for low-latency local inference and minimal blast radius. Bring your own gateway: AION observes the traffic that already flows through it, prices it and signs the cost evidence. Single-writer, local storage, no client-server DB.

  • observe, price, route and verify savings in-boundary
  • intelligent CPU-based routing for the routing/cost evidence
  • records append-only files plus an embedded coordination KV
  • no Infivector network dependency in strict mode

Strict mode (overlay)

An air-gapped overlay on the sidecar: no outbound vendor calls. Router weights, policy bundles and updates ship as offline artifacts. The in-boundary, customer-key-held, no-phone-home posture for regulated finance, healthcare and government.

  • zero outbound vendor dependency
  • customer holds the keys; a vendor never sees the data
  • offline-staged updates and policy bundles
  • same footprint as the sidecar plus offline operations overhead

Bring your own gateway

AION rides the gateway you already run rather than replacing it. It prices and routes covered traffic on your existing gateway, sidecar or air-gapped, with no hosted control plane and no vendor in the data path.

  • the in-boundary sidecar and strict mode are the core shapes
  • bring-your-own-gateway is the default posture
  • AION prices and routes on the gateway you already run
  • no hosted control plane in the data path

Adoption

Start in observe, expand to control.

Begin with one low-risk team in observe mode, then turn on budgets and cheapest-safe routing across more covered traffic.

AION Optimize

The AION routing engine drives cheapest-safe routing, fallbacks, route replay, cache-aware affinity and guarded context compression. The verified savings ledger writes one event per validated dollar.
